The British think tank OAG has released a report on the recovery of the aviation market in the world. At the end of the summer season, Aeroflot ranks first in the top 5 in Europe in terms of capacity recovery – 70% from 2019. Moreover, the airline is the only one of the top 5 European carriers to increase its domestic capacity by a record 102% from 2019.
Aeroflot has appeared in several ratings at once by the British analytical center OAG, which released a report on the recovery of the global aviation market the day before. According to the center, in the top 5 European airlines Aeroflot is the leader in increasing the carrying capacity – according to this indicator, the national carrier of Russia has reached 70% of the level of 2019.
In addition, the airline took several leading positions in other ratings of the report. Thus, Aeroflot ranks first in Europe in terms of capacity and share of domestic flights (63%) and in terms of recovery rates in the domestic market (102%). Note that Aeroflot is the only European airline from the top 5 that has increased its capacity on domestic flights (102% from 2019). In 2019, this indicator of the air carrier was 43%, and in 2021 – 63%. The carrier received silver in the ratings of Europe in terms of recovery rates in the international market (45%) and in terms of capacity among traditional carriers. ⠀ ⠀
According to Aeroflot representatives, such impressive growth was achieved due to the reorientation to the domestic market. For other European carriers, the share of domestic flights is significantly lower (13–35%).
As a reminder, earlier, this fall, Aeroflot has already received distinctions from world-class experts. According to the On-Time Performance Report, the airline took first place in the world in punctuality, according to the results of October, having performed more than 93% of flights in accordance with the schedule.
Aeroflot is one of the top 20 largest airlines in the world. Last year, the airline carried 14.6 million people, and including the airlines of the Aeroflot Group – 30.2 million.
