SRINAGAR: Three Jaish-affiliated militants were killed in a clash between security forces and militants in Chand Gam area of southern Pulwama district, Kashmir Zone Police Inspector General Vijay Kumar said. Three militants, including a foreign Jaish-affiliated militant, were killed during the night raids.
A police spokesman said security personnel received a tip-off that militants were hiding in the Chand Gam area of the southern district of Pulwama, and police and security forces jointly cordoned off the area between Tuesday and Wednesday night. Took action and launched an operation to find them.
He said that all the escape routes were blocked and the militants started firing indiscriminately on the security personnel, so the security personnel also took position and started retaliation and thus clashes broke out between the two sides. A police spokesman said three militants were killed in the skirmish.

He said that the bodies of the slain militants had been recovered from the spot and action had been taken against them for identification and organizational affiliation. According to him, arms and ammunition and objectionable materials were recovered from the spot and confiscated.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Zone Police quoted Inspector General Vijay Kumar as saying in a tweet that “three Jaish-affiliated militants were killed in a midnight clash in Chand Gam area of southern district Pulwama”.
He said that two American-made rifles and another questionable material were recovered from the possession of the slain militants. The operation is still going on in the area. Nine militants, including an intruder, were killed in clashes with security forces between January 1 and January 5 this year.
