Russian billionaire, President of Becar Asset Management, Alexander Sharapov, gave Russians simple advice on how to survive in retirement. The businessman believes that citizens should prepare for a well-deserved rest by purchasing a “pension odnushka” (one-room apartment) for themselves in advance.
In an interview with the BN.ru portal , the entrepreneur said that it is very difficult to save up for retirement in Russia on your own, while payments to the elderly are low.
At the same time, according to Sharapov, apartments are easily rented out, especially when it comes to a one-room apartment.
“Because either my children or my friends and acquaintances rented such an apartment. And when I buy such a house, I quite clearly understand how to rent it out, ”the businessman explained.
Buying apartments for their subsequent leasing, according to the entrepreneur, is a popular tool not only in Russia, but also in Brazil, India and China – countries where stock markets and life insurance are underdeveloped.
In turn, the businessman recommended that those who were able to acquire five one-room apartments to think about investing in office real estate or street retail.
Real estate prices in Russia, according to Sharapov, will continue to grow, including due to government support for the mortgage market and a reduction in the land bank of developers.
Also, according to the businessman, investing in real estate protects citizens from inflation, while “over the past 30 years, the ruble has depreciated 44 thousand times.”
