The life of the famous Bogdanov brothers – Igor and Grigory – ended in tragedy in France. The twins passed away 6 days apart. Bright TV presenters and popularizers of science Igor and Grigory Bogdanov have been a brand for several decades. Unique appearance, love of plastic, outrageous antics – the French of Russian origin have become one of the most popular memes.
At the end of November it became known that one of the famous “Kenov” twins, Grigory “Grishka” Bogdanov, had passed away. And on the eve of the foreign media reported about the death of his brother Igor. The man died from the effects of the coronavirus. Note that both twin brothers were not vaccinated.
“Igor Bogdanov died six days after brother Grishka. I offer my sincere condolences to their loved ones, ”one of the brothers’ friends wrote.
Many showmen tried to repeat the phenomenon of the Bogdanov brothers, the twins were accused of pseudoscientific discoveries, of deception, but, nevertheless, their persons attracted attention and enjoyed success with the European audience. From the late 1970s until 1987, Igor and Grigory hosted several television shows, popularizing not so much scientific, proven facts as fiction. Almost all of the statements made by the Bogdanovs were harshly criticized by serious scientists. But Igor and Grigory did not lose their optimism and continued to defend their unique knowledge, regularly publishing their works in various journals, reporting pseudoscientific and sensational theories about extraterrestrial life, UFOs, etc.
In the early 2000s, the popularity of the Bogdanovs began to fade, but the twins found a new way to attract attention – plastic! Their faces were repeatedly subjected to surgical interventions, beauty injections, making ordinary middle-aged men – “Ken” dolls, in a perverted version. The Bogdanovs turned into an international “meme”, freaks, but were still popular with viewers.
Plastic surgeon Sergei Levin, in a conversation with MK, suggested what operations Igor and Grigory did, and why their faces were so deformed.
“Gregory and Igor have been famous presenters for decades,” the doctor began. – In order not to lose popularity, of course, they had to do something with their faces in order to attract attention. Another question is how successful it was. They inserted implants into their chins, so there was an “angular” effect. Perhaps the men added implants to their cheekbones. As I see it, in addition to the implants, they also enlarged their cheekbones with a dense gel. Several procedures were performed to increase the upper and lower lips. These are all harmless procedures: implants, gel.
They could not provoke the death of the brothers. As far as I know from the English-speaking press, the Bogdanovs died in a covid hospital, and they fell ill at the same time. Died from complications of COVID-19. “
– Why have their faces changed so much over time?
– I can assume that they also did rhinoplasty. But it’s very difficult to say: we have pictures of the brothers when they were very young, and they died at the age of 72. It is worth noting that noses at 70 and at 20 are different! But the Bogdanovs did the chin – 100 percent. Because with age, it decreases, but for the brothers it increased. The same situation is with the cheekbones. But these aesthetic operations and procedures could not give any predisposition to death. The fact that they died with a difference of 6 days may have been close and that is why everything turned out so tragically.
The Bogdanov brothers were also sincerely proud of their ancestry, claiming that they could read and speak, in addition to French, in Russian, German and Czech. Their father, artist Yuri Mikhailovich Ostasenko-Bogdanov, was born in 1928 in Leningrad. According to media reports, the artist was the offspring of a Tatar princely family baptized into Orthodoxy. Due to persecution by the Soviet authorities and his personal convictions, Yuri Mikhailovich managed to escape to Spain, where he received the status of a political refugee. Soon Ostasenko-Bogdanov married a girl of also princely blood, Maria Dolores Franciska Kolovrat-Krakowska.
The twins Gregory and Igor were born to the couple on August 29, 1949 in the French city of Saint-Lary. According to the documents, the brothers’ father won the right to call himself Prince Bogdanov.
