Navjot Singh Sadhu Chandigarh: Assembly elections (Punjab Elections 2022) are to be held on February 20 in Punjab. Meanwhile, an FIR has been registered against a close associate of Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu and his adviser Muhammad Mustafa. Mohammad Mustafa allegedly used obscene language. The video of his statement went viral. In the alleged video, Muhammad Mustafa, a former DGP and close confidante of Navjot Singh, was campaigning for Congress candidate and cabinet minister Razia Sultana from his wife and Malir Kotla. During this time, he used vulgar language in his provocative speech.
It should be noted that Muhammad Mustafa was addressing a public meeting on January 20. He had said in the meantime that if his program had allowed someone else’s program, it would have serious consequences. In fact, where Muhammad Mustafa was speaking, another party’s program was going on and seeing the crowd of people in it, Muhammad Mustafa was incensed. He had said, “I will not allow any procession of them. I am a national soldier, I am not an agent of RSS, who will break into the house in fear.”

Muhammad Mustafa was addressing a public meeting on January 20. He is thought to have survived an earlier attempt to oust him following Mr Jiang’s intervention. In fact, there was a program of another political party where Muhammad Mustafa was giving his speech and seeing the crowd of people in it, Muhammad Mustafa became furious. “I will not allow any of their meetings to take place. I am a national soldier. I am not an agent of the RSS who will break into the house in fear,” he said.
Muhammad Mustafa threatened the political party and the district administration and said that the administration and these people should understand my point well, if I go bad then no one will be able to control me. He warned the administration that wherever their program is, the program of opposition parties should not be allowed. “If such a thing happens again, I swear to God I will break into the house. I am fighting for the nation, not for the vote,” he said.
The video was allegedly shared by BJP Punjab Youth Wing spokesperson Charanshu Ratan. Reacting to the video, BJP spokesperson Shazia Alam said, “Our team and Charanshu have got this video.” He said that such a provocative statement was made by Muhammad Mustafa during the election campaign in Muslim-majority constituency Malir Kotla. He alleged that Muhammad Mustafa was trying to spoil the communal atmosphere by using such words before the election.
The BJP spokesperson told Punjab Congress President Navjot Singh Sadhu that he should respond to this and clarify his position on the issue. Not only that, he has said that the Election Commission should take notice of this statement of Muhammad Mustafa. He said that the Election Commission should ensure that Muhammad Mustafa’s wife and MPA Razia Sultana was not allowed to contest from there.
Aam Aadmi Party senior leader and in-charge of Punjab affairs Raghu Chadha also commented and said that it was clear that the Congress wanted to worsen the law and order situation in Punjab before the elections. An adviser to the former DGP and PCC chief and close to the Chinese government, it is clear that the party wants to destabilize the law and order situation. The party should clarify whether they support these statements and whether they are disseminating their views through their advisers.
