Corona virus: more than 22,000 new cases in 24 hours, 406 deaths

New Delhi: Cases of corona virus are on the rise in the country, with 22,775 cases of corona infection reported in the last 24 hours as against 16,764 a day earlier. With the newly infected patients, the number of people infected with Corona in the country has risen to 34861579. During this period, 406 patients died from Corona, out of which the death toll from this epidemic has reached 481,486.

On Friday, 58 lakh 11 thousand 487 vaccines were administered in the country and with this, the total number of vaccinations has reached one billion 45 crore 16 lakh 24 thousand 150. A total of 1,431 cases of Corona’s new variant Omicron have been registered in the country so far, according to data released by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Saturday morning. With the recovery of 8949 patients in the last 24 hours, the number of survivors has risen to 34275312. During this period active cases increased from 13420 to 104781.

The recovery rate in the country is 98.32%, the active case rate is 0.30% and the death rate is 1.38%. Kerala currently has the highest number of active cases in the country. In the last 24 hours, the number of active cases has come down by 419 to 20106. With the recovery of 2742 patients in the state, the number of people who have lost to Corona has risen to 5179277. Meanwhile, the death toll has risen to 47794 after the death of 353 more patients. In the last 24 hours, Kerala has witnessed the highest number of deaths due to corona infection.

With the increase of 6293 active cases in Maharashtra during this period, the total number of active cases has increased to 28199, while the death toll due to death of 8 more patients has increased to 141526. At the same time, 1766 more patients have recovered from Corona, bringing their total number to 6509096.
