In Tyumen, ENT specialists of the children’s in-patient department of the Regional Clinical Hospital No. 2 revealed in a seven-year-old girl a rare case of a disease called a giant cell granuloma of the upper jaw, and at an advanced stage. It turned out that the course of the disease passed for a whole year without symptoms – so that, as a result, a huge tumor grew in the girl’s nose, which began to press on the walls of the organ.
A year ago, the young Tyumen woman began to complain of watery eyes, then the ophthalmologist diagnosed acute conjunctivitis and prescribed outpatient treatment. However, soon the child began to mow the correct eye. Then, “dry congestion” was added to the existing symptoms – the nose simply stopped breathing. It was then that the ophthalmologists redirected the little patient to the ENT doctors.
The girl was admitted to the hospital with signs of sinusitis. And only there they were finally able to establish an accurate diagnosis. Unfortunately, everything turned out to be much more complicated.
- Every morning I examine the children who entered the day before. That morning I noticed the girl had a swelling on the side of her cheek. We immediately sent the child to CT with a contrast agent and revealed a large tumor that occupied the entire nasal sinus, destroyed the upper, lower and middle medial walls, – Nadezhda Kuznetsova, head of the otorhinolaryngological department of the children’s hospital of OKB No. 2 , told the correspondent of Komsomolskaya Pravda – Tyumen .
The child was immediately operated on, and his condition began to improve. Now, a year after the surgery, according to the results of the control examination, there are no relapses: “Everything is stable, the child goes to school and lives a full life.”
Earlier, “Komsomolskaya Pravda – Tyumen” wrote that in Tyumen, surgeons from the regional clinical hospital No. 2 removed a large heart-shaped tumor from the abdomen of a 13-year-old girl . The neoplasm was so large that the baby looked like a pregnant woman. She was urgently evacuated at two o’clock in the morning in an ambulance from the southern region of the Tyumen region and taken to a medical facility tens of kilometers away.
But the doctors of the “Medical City” were horrified when a 60-year-old patient came to their appointment with only minor complaints in the pelvic area. An ultrasound scan showed a huge tumor weighing 25 kilograms , which, according to the patient, managed to grow in just two years!
