Dziuba is not needed by Zenit: the loudest transfer of the offseason is coming

Artem Dziuba’s transfer to Rubin Kazan may become the loudest transfer of the winter off-season in Russian football. Strengthening is needed by all teams, including Zenit, while the clubs have already spent more money on new players than a year ago. MK-Sport tells the details.

The Russian championship went on a winter break. The footballers went to the resorts to rest, and the sports and scout departments of the clubs began an active search for newcomers for their clubs. Someone will have to play in the Europa League in the spring, fight for the medals of the national championship or the Cup of Russia. Someone will solve other problems – how not to fly to the FNL. Therefore, strengthening is necessary for everyone. And it would be nice to get rid of excess ballast in order to unload the payroll.

Artem Dziuba , constantly appearing on the pages of the scandalous media chronicle, can be considered one of the main losers of the current season. On the one hand, he continues to play and even became the top scorer in the history of the Russian championships, overtaking Oleg Veretennikov . On the other hand, he refused to play for the Russian national team with Valery Karpin, with whom the striker has a long-standing conflict. And Artyom is not doing very well at Zenit, although he is the top scorer with 10 goals.

For 18 rounds, the striker started five matches on the bench, entering the field only in the second half. Of the remaining 12 games, he spent all 90 minutes on the field in only four matches, in the rest he was replaced by head coach Sergei Semak . Many experts, including the interlocutors of MK-Sport, have repeatedly noted that Dziuba is not in his best physical shape this season. And Semak’s tactical schemes are changing, and there is not always a place for Artyom in them. Therefore, there is nothing surprising in the fact that the talks about his departure from Zenit are heard louder and louder, no.

So far, the most realistic option for continuing a football player’s career, according to media reports, is a transfer to Rubin. The club is now experiencing obvious difficulties – having started the season with European competitions, the team came up to the winter break in 10th place in the standings and flew out of the Conference League back in August. In the spring, the “pomegranates” will play in the Cup and the championship. To rectify the situation, you need “fresh blood”.

The first mention of the possible transition of Dziuba to “Rubin” appeared in mid-August. Then Metaratings.ru reported that the management of Zenit is looking for options to give the striker on loan, and one of the clubs is Rubin. According to the publication, Dziuba and Semak had a personal conflict: the coach was no longer satisfied with the player’s behavior in the team. Although a more likely reason seems to be the failure to fulfill one of the conditions of the player’s current contract – he must spend at least 70 percent of the team’s playing time on the field, and so far this figure is at the level of 63 percent. Sources of MK-Sport confirmed that such negotiations did take place.

In recent days, new information has emerged on this possible transfer. As RBC reported on December 25, citing a source in Zenit, the St. Petersburg club held negotiations with Rubin. True, later the general director of Zenit, Alexander Medvedev, told RIA Novosti that these were just rumors. And in the Kazan club itself so far refrained from commenting.

One of the main issues will be Dziuba’s salary in the new team. Now, according to media estimates, it is more than 3.5 million euros. The contract ends in the summer of 2022, which means that the striker must be sold in the winter. The well-known portal Transfermarkt estimates the cost of Dziuba at 10 million euros. At the same time, it is unlikely that “Rubin”, which itself is now not in the best financial situation, will pull such a cost and such a striker’s salary. So Artyom will once again have to choose – either agree to a demotion for the sake of constant playing practice, or look for other options to continue his career.

It should be noted that the footballer and head coach of Rubin Leonid Slutsky have good personal relations. They constantly exchange jokes on social networks, and in May 2021, at the celebration of the 50th anniversary of coach Dziuba, he even allegedly stated that he would not mind playing under him. Whether one of the most high-profile transfers of the winter off-season will take place will become known in the near future.

However, it is not only Rubin that needs to solve personnel problems. Another striker, Serdar Azmun , may also leave Zenit . Also, in the summer of 2022, contracts for defender Yaroslav Rakitsky and midfielder Magomed Ozdoev end. And it is advisable to settle these issues also during the winter transfer window.

Of the most likely newcomers to the current championship of Russia, the name of the striker of the Samara Krylia Sovetov Ivan Sergeev has been named , since it is hardly reasonable for Sergei Semak to count on the Brazilians alone in the attack. There have already been quite a few examples, even in our football, when the representatives of this country, for some reason only understandable to them, stopped playing, having achieved good performance, and began to deal with solving their personal problems.

In any case, the upcoming offseason promises to be rich in news about player transfers, since now, according to Match TV, RPL clubs have spent more on player purchases than a year ago, although the application period will only open on January 26, 2022.
