Last week, the ex-wife of the footballer Nadezhda Kovba reported that the footballer was in intensive care due to complications caused by coronavirus infection. Just a week later, it became known that the doctors were unable to help the famous football player.

The 42-year-old Kovba retired in 2012. As part of Wings of the Soviets, he played from 2000 to 2009, as well as in 2010-2011. In total, Kovba played 252 matches for the Samara club and scored eight goals. He was one of the main players of the team, which won bronze medals in the Russian Championship in 2004 and reached the final of the Russian Cup. In 2010, as part of the Prague “Sparta”, he won the Czech Championship and the Super Cup of this country, after which he returned to Samara.

Deniu Kovba holds several Wings of the Soviets records. After the end of his playing career, he worked in the coaching staff of the Samara club, later opened his own football school in Belarus, and eventually was invited to the headquarters of the Vitebsk club.

Denis Kovba was one of the favorites of Samara fans who respected him for his dedication and reliability.
