The joint gas plan, which involves delivery through integrated gas transmission networks, was devised and proposed by four EU countries. The statement was published by Transgaz (Romania) on 1 October.

Additional volumes of delivery are going to be carried out by the operators Bulgartransgaz, Transgaz, FGSZ, and Eustream. This will be done within the framework of cooperation with Azerbaijan. According to calculations, we are talking about transporting an additional 5 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year. They will go from Greece and Turkey to Eastern, Central, and Western Europe.

“This would allow European consumers to receive more natural gas from the pipelines of the Southern Gas Corridor,” the statement said.

It is assumed that this year gas supplies from Azerbaijan to Europe will increase by 40 percent.
