New Delhi, Dec 11 (UNI) India on Saturday sent a consignment of medical supplies from Kabul Kam Air in view of the challenging humanitarian situation in Afghanistan. The shipment of medical supplies was sent by a special Kam Air flight, carrying 10 Indians and 94 Afghans to New Delhi on Friday.
An official statement said the drugs would be handed over to representatives of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Kabul and distributed at the city’s Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital.
With the help of the Indian government, 94 Afghans, including 10 Indians and members of the Afghan minority community, were flown to New Delhi on a special Kam Air flight on Friday. Members of the minority community had brought with them two manuscripts of Guru Granth Sahib and some ancient Hindu manuscripts.
A total of 669 people have been evacuated from Afghanistan so far under ‘Operation Devi Shakti’. They include 448 Indians and 206 Afghans, including members of the Afghan Hindu / Sikh minority.
