ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has decided to suspend all mobile phone services in the capital for three days in view of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Islamic Conference (IIC) starting from Friday. According to Home Ministry sources, instructions have been issued to the Pakistan Telecommunications Authority (PTA) to keep mobile phone services closed in Islamabad from December 17 to 19.

Sources said that in order to ensure the security of the dignitaries and foreign ministers of many Muslim and other countries attending the conference, the Foreign Minister has proposed a public holiday in the capital on December 20. Service from Islamabad Airport to Red Zone will remain closed.
