Agra: The period of resignations has intensified in Uttar Pradesh before the next Assembly elections. Former Agra MP Prabhu Dayal Kathiria has now resigned from the post of State Vice President and National Council. Three-time MP Prabhu Dayal Kathiria was demanding a ticket for his son but did not get one, after which he announced his resignation from all party posts.
Not only that, Prabhu Dayal Katheria’s son Arun Kant has joined the Aam Aadmi Party and Prabhu Dayal Katheria has announced that his son will contest the election on AAP ticket. It is learned that Kathiria has also filed her son’s nomination paper. However, Prabhu Dayal says he will continue to be a member of the BJP.
In fact, Kathiria had been demanding a ticket for her son Arun Kant from the Agra Rural Assembly seat for quite some time. As soon as the party announced the candidates and Kathiria’s son did not get a ticket, he got angry and resigned from all the posts. Prabhu Dayal Kathiria had asked for tickets in 2012, 2014 and 2017. From this seat, BJP has given ticket to Baby Rani Moriah.
Talking to media, former MP Prabhu Dayal Kathiria said that he would continue to be a member of BJP but would not hold any post. On the other hand, the district president of Aam Aadmi Party has confirmed that Prabhu Dayal Kathiria’s son Arun Kant will be contesting from Agra rural assembly seat on party ticket. Announcing his resignation from party posts, Prabhu Dayal Kathiria said that the one who suffers more oppression is the culprit. Asked whether Prabhu Dayal Kathiria would campaign for the BJP in the elections or for his son, he said, “I will tell you when the time comes.”
