Many students of music and art schools, as well as their parents, are still in terrible dreams of remote 2020. Experience has shown that learning music and drawing online is almost impossible. Once again, because of the “omicron”, the threat of full distance learning loomed over schoolchildren. Additional education has already been transferred to distance education in St. Petersburg and the Rostov region, a number of regions and territories of the Russian Federation are completely switching to distance learning.
What tricks did the teachers of “creative” schools resort to during the lockdown. Many remember the piano teacher with a “selfie stick” on a mop: the phone was taped to a wooden handle with tape. Or a system of mirrors, as when calling the Queen of Spades, which was invented by an art school teacher in order to make the image three-dimensional. Over the past two years, many teachers have acquired good digital equipment at home. But this, it must be admitted, did not solve all the problems.
“On any platform, even with the fastest internet, there is a lag in sound,” says Galina Andrienko, vocal teacher at the Children’s Music School. “A second or two, but that’s enough. It’s just impossible to sing like that in real time. They got out by what I sang separately, the child repeated, and then I corrected. Assignments sent in audio files. But it was all a compromise. We then eliminated the gap from the program with my students for a long time.
In the same music schools there are now three training programs: general developmental, pre-professional and extrabudgetary, for money. Of course, “pre-professionals”, who have more hours both in their specialty and in solfeggio, suffered the most. Someone could not stand the combination of distance lessons and music at all and gave up music.
“It was with great regret that we said goodbye to the music school, there was a cello,” says Lyudmila Opanasova, mother of 6th grader Lyova. – He always had solfeggio as a stumbling block. Good hearing, good hands, but the trouble is, we ourselves are not musicians. Couldn’t help him. I do not know who makes this program, but the child himself cannot understand it.
Until this distance was introduced, Leva still somehow balanced. He played well, so he was given a pre-professional program. But when they began to send these assignments for solfeggio just to their homes, with virtually no explanation, he could not and did not want to continue to study. It’s a pity, I had to leave the penultimate class of the music school. His teacher in the specialty almost cried, Leo has excellent natural abilities.
The “artists” – state employees, who have all the preparation at the pre-professional level, have their own problems. There are a lot of disciplines: painting, drawing, sculpture, art history, composition. And all online lessons are conducted during the day – at the same time as the school ones.
– Here, as you like, choose, – says the mother of 8-grader Lena, Alexandra Maraeva. – We had these problems all the time, with timing, so to speak. Sculpture starts at 2:30 pm, and the seventh lesson at school ends at 3:30 pm, for example. But you still have to get there … Somehow they were spinning, they let us pass here and there. But on the remote everything went just in parallel.
Recorded and watched later. It was possible to consult with some teachers separately, they somehow got into the position. Others fundamentally – they say, choose what is more important to you. And how will you choose if you also have to pass exams at school? I don’t understand at all why the classes in the general education school and the state art school are so out of sync? I heard that paid groups in our school are different.
