Created on the initiative of Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, the youth military-patriotic movement “Yunarmiya” has overcome the millionth mark. As reported to “MK” in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in the museum complex “Road of Memory” in the ranks of the movement was admitted to the millionth Young Army soldier. It was a young resident of Podolsk near Moscow, Arseny Babashov. He was congratulated by the Deputy Minister of Defense – Head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Armed Forces, Hero of Russia, Colonel-General Gennady Zhidko and Chief of the General Staff of the Youth Army, Olympic champion Nikita Nagorny. “I’m proud to be part of the movement,” the teenager told reporters. Youth Army was created in 2016 with the support of the President of Russia. The goals of the movement are patriotic education, as well as the physical, intellectual and social development of young people.
