Kanpur: Asaduddin Owaisi, president of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-e-Muslimeen (AIMIM), on Sunday claimed that a Muslim would be made the Deputy Chief Minister in the government to be formed after the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. His party’s campaign for 100 seats aims to give Muslims their right to power.
Addressing a public meeting of AIMIM at GIC Ground, Kanpur, Mr. Owaisi said that if 19% Muslim voters of Uttar Pradesh unite and vote this time, then the next Deputy Chief Minister of the state would be a Muslim.
He said that instead of being a vote bank of any political party for Muslims, it was time to prepare the leadership of their nation in the state.
