New Delhi: Despite the rise in international crude oil prices, petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged at the local level for the 67th consecutive day today. Prices came down slightly after the central government announced on November 4 to reduce excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10, respectively. Petrol became cheaper by about Rs 8 in Delhi on December 2 after the state governments decided to reduce the VAT.
On the first day of trading in Singapore, London Brent crude traded up 0.2 percent at نو 89.3 a barrel and US crude traded up 0.4 percent at ص 19.01 a barrel.
Petrol and diesel prices in the domestic market remained unchanged on the 67th day. Due to reduction in VAT in the national capital, petrol was priced at Rs 95.41 per liter and diesel at Rs 86.67 per liter at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPC) stations.
Petrol and diesel prices are reviewed on a daily basis and on this basis new prices are applicable every day from 6 am. Today, the prices of petrol and diesel in the four major metros of the country are as follows:
