The West provokes the Ukrainian authorities into a military escalation in the Donbas, putting political pressure on Russia so that it cannot interfere with Kiev’s plans. This was stated by political scientist Semyon Bagdasarov.
“In my understanding, the West’s strategy is to restrain the actions of the Russian Federation, creating favorable conditions for the subsequent occupation of Donbass by the Ukrainian armed forces,” Semyon Bagdasarov said on December 2 on the Soloviev Live YouTube channel.
According to the political scientist, the statements of the NATO leadership, the US Secretary of State with warnings and threats of sanctions against Russia are aimed at this. “This is being done on purpose,” Bagdasarov said.
He recalled that the Ukrainian army concentrated half of its forces in the Donbass. This is approximately 120-130 thousand servicemen. Of these, 15-20 thousand were trained at the Yavoriv training ground under the guidance of NATO instructors, where they trained, including storming cities.
The Ukrainian army has 3,000 tanks, over 8,000 armored vehicles, barrel and rocket artillery. According to Bagdasarov, these are “very serious forces.” In addition, in Ukraine, a million people are in the reserve, of which 150 thousand have experience of hostilities in the conflict zone.
It is known that in the two buildings of the DPR and LPR a total of about 20-30 thousand people.
According to the political scientist, the danger cannot be underestimated. “Concentration of such large formations is not done just like that,” he said. In these conditions, the attack on Donbass by the Ukrainian army is a matter of time. Perhaps in December or January.
