Lucknow: Congress general secretary and party’s Uttar Pradesh in-charge Priyanka Gandhi has lashed out at the Yogi Adityanath government over its exploitation of Dalits. Sharing a video on Twitter of the mother of a Dalit youth who lost her life in custody, Priyanka Gandhi said that every word spoken by the mother of the deceased describes the exploitation of Dalits by the government of Yogi Adityanath.
Priyanka Gandhi has shared a video of ‘The Quint’ reporting from a village in Ghazipur, where a Dalit youth died in custody. The video states that records show that many of the deaths in custody could not be recorded. In the video, the victim’s mother is seen saying that she is being pressured to reconcile but she will not reconcile at any cost.
Priyanka Gandhi wrote on Twitter, “When I met the family of Arun Valmiki of Agra who was killed in custody, there was something like this in the words of his old mother. Every single word uttered by the mother of Narendra Paswan of Ghazipur makes a story of exploitation of Dalits by the government of Yogi Adityanath.
He further wrote, “In this government, those who threaten the affected families and those who exploit Dalits are given medals. The constitution of Aman Baba Sahib Ambedkar has given you the right to justice. I will stand with you and with you to the last in the fight for justice. ”
