The press service of the US State Department issued a statement saying that Washington received a response from Moscow to a proposal to de-escalate the situation around Ukraine.
The US Foreign Ministry confirmed the US commitment to a diplomatic way of resolving international security issues, including the crisis around Ukraine.
“We confirm that we have received a written response from Russia …. We will leave it to Russia’s discretion whether it wants to discuss its response,” the document, quoted by RIA Novosti, says.
The State Department also stressed that they consider it unproductive to negotiate in the public space.
