Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channy said the state government would welcome the farmers on their return from the Delhi border on Saturday, where they had staged a year-long protest against the three agricultural laws. Congratulating the farmers, agricultural laborers and their leaders, the Chief Minister on Friday said that it was a victory of the people and an alliance of different sections of the society which had forced the Center to withdraw the strict black laws.

Channy said that despite not paying attention to the demands of the farmers for almost a year, the BJP leaders now want to use the victory of the farmers to their advantage and try to use it as an election card in the forthcoming Punjab Assembly elections. Are doing

The Chief Minister said that the farmers and the people would never forgive the Centre’s patience being tested by Narendra Modi and his leaders. He said that it was not an easy victory for the farmers as they had to pay a heavy price for the arrogance of the Center. More than 700 farmers have lost their lives during this peasant movement. Channy said his government has also provided employment and financial assistance to the families of 350 slain farmers.
