The captain of the OG Dota 2 team is Evgeny Makarova, who plays under the pseudonyms Chu and Chuvash. The corresponding message appeared on the team’s official Twitter page .

OG is the only esports organization to have twice won The International, the main DOTA 2 championship. The team recently completely changed their roster. Some time after that, two players, including captain Mikhail Agatov (Misha), revealed who the new coach would be, but the team’s official statement was released a little later.

The International is held annually. Its prize pool is the largest among all esports championships in the world, in 2021 it amounted to more than $ 40 million, 18.2 of which will be shared by the winning team, and the first place went to Team Spirit, which includes three Russians and two Ukrainians.

Team OG won the championship title in 2018 and 2019. In 2020, the tournament was not held due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

DOTA 2 is the sequel to the multiplayer game DOTA, a modification card for Warcraft III, which laid the foundation for the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) genre. Players select and control characters with different abilities. The match involves two teams of five players each, the winner is the one that managed to destroy the “fortress” (or, in the jargon of the players, the “throne”) of the enemy. Each of the players usually performs their tasks.

The tradition of hiring a coach for professional DOTA teams began a few years ago, but quickly became common. His job is, among other things, to analyze past games, as well as help think through the choice of heroes and tactics for future matches. Previously, the corresponding duties fell primarily on the captain.
