Football club “Spartak” announced the appointment of Paolo Vanoli to the post of head coach of the “red and white”.
The contract with the Italian specialist is valid until the end of the 2022/23 season. As head coach of Spartak, Vanoli replaced the Portuguese Ruy Vitoria , who left the team on December 15.
Before being appointed to Spartak, 49-year-old Vanoli worked for several seasons at the headquarters of Antonio Conte , who now heads Tottenham. As Conte’s assistant, Spartak’s new head coach took part in winning the championship in England (with Chelsea) and Italy (with Inter).
After the 18th round of the Russian Premier League (RPL) “Spartaak” with 23 points is located on the ninth line in the standings. In the Europa League, the “red-whites” took first place in the group and reached the 1/8 finals of the tournament.
