Record coldest night of the season in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: The coldest night of the current season was recorded in Srinagaar between Friday and Saturday night when the minimum temperature was recorded at minus 6.0 degrees Celsius. Srinagar recorded a minimum temperature of 6.6 degrees Celsius on December 19 last year.

During the last decade, the lowest night temperature in the month of December in Srinagar was recorded on December 25, 2017 when the minimum temperature was recorded at minus 7.7 degrees Celsius.

Earlier, the lowest temperature in Srinagar was recorded on December 13, 1934 when the minimum temperature was recorded at minus 12.8 degrees Celsius. Gulmarg, a popular tourist destination in the valley, recorded a low of minus 8.5 degrees Celsius whereas last night’s minimum temperature was minus 8.6 degrees Celsius.

Pahalgam, another popular tourist destination in the valley, recorded a low of minus 8.3 degrees Celsius whereas last night’s low was minus 5.6 degrees Celsius.
