Cardiologist Azizkhon Askarov named several harbingers of a stroke. He urged to pay attention to the triad of pain and neurological symptoms.
In an interview with AiF, the doctor points out that severe headache, nausea, poor coordination of movements, decreased vision and a feeling of numbness in the hands may indicate an unfavorable development of the disease.
According to the specialist, all these symptoms appear half an hour – an hour before the stroke. Just at that moment, the blockage of the artery occurs, a cerebral infarction begins.
Askarov explained that doctors call all these manifestations a “triad”. Consciousness is suppressed, a person can fall asleep abruptly. Speech is broken – it becomes incoherent, blurry. Problems with coordination begin – the person cannot take a step, he falls.
The doctor recommends at this moment, without waiting for complications, to call an ambulance.
Up to 450 thousand strokes are diagnosed in Russia every year. 29% of men and 39% of women die after an attack. The age range of the disease is huge: from 29-30 years old to old age. People over 65 are at greatest risk. In their case, the death rate from stroke reaches 80%.
