The South Korean military had earlier reported that North Korea had fired a missile into the Sea of Japan on Wednesday morning.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blanken spoke by telephone with Japanese Foreign Minister Hayashi Yoshimasa about North Korea’s recent ballistic missile test. “The United States is committed to protecting Japan,” he said.
