Tamil Nadu VIRDHUNGAR: Four workers were killed and two others were seriously injured in an explosion at a private cracker factory in Meto Patti near Shivakashi in Tamil Nadu’s Verdho Nagar district on Saturday. A fire broke out at the RKVM cracker factory this morning, causing a series of explosions, police said.

At least seven warehouses and sheds collapsed as a result of the crash. The warehouses contained large stocks of firecrackers and highly flammable chemicals. Preliminary investigations have revealed that the explosion was caused by friction with a chemical.
