In the village of Seltso, Kholmogorsky District, Arkhangelsk Region, a pontoon bridge over the Emtsa River, which was built just six months ago, collapsed. The construction of the facility cost 20 million rubles.
The destruction of the bridge took place last Thursday, November 25. The structure was damaged by ice passing along the river.
The regional department of the Investigative Committee clarified that as a result, several settlements were isolated, including Myaukurye, Peshemskoye, Pogost, Ripalovo, Ust-Mehrengu. In total, 209 people were cut off from the mainland.
It is noted that law enforcement agencies have begun an inspection, based on the results of which a procedural decision will be made.
The bridge was erected in June this year, with contractors claiming that it will last half a century and that the structure is “resistant to aggressive environments and weather conditions.” Allegedly, the bridge is able to withstand open fire and extreme temperatures from minus 60 degrees to plus 70 degrees Celsius.
At the same time, the Ministry of Transport of the Arkhangelsk Region began an inspection. The commission of the department should set the terms of the repair, according to 29.ru
