In Russia, on November 19, one can observe a lunar eclipse, a record-breaking lunar eclipse in the last 500 years. About noon Moscow time, 97% of the surface of the lunar disk, which was in the shadow of the Earth, darkened. The phenomenon can be observed in the Far East, America and other parts of the world. In central Russia, because of daylight hours, the moon is not visible. It is believed that a lunar eclipse can have an effect on the human body. MK learned from the doctors how the phenomenon affected Muscovites.
An employee of the Central Ambulance Station. Puchkova told MK that there were no more calls in Moscow during the hours of the lunar eclipse. At least, large-scale traffic jams in Moscow became a much bigger nuisance for doctors. Because of them, possible delays in the ambulance are more likely than because of lunar eclipses.
– I can say that today small children at the reception are more whiny than usual, – said a pediatrician of one of the city children’s polyclinics. – There is no apparent reason. I attribute this to gloomy weather and a change in temperature – it was snowing yesterday, now it is a little warmer again. For November, such moments are completely normal.
– So far, as far as I know, no one has proven the direct effect of the moon on the human body, – said the capital’s physician-therapist Vasily Konnov. – I have several regular patients with chronic cardiovascular diseases, they do not have synchronous “exacerbations”. The only thing that can be said is that if people believe in the influence of the Moon, then a lunar eclipse in them can cause nervous breakdowns, an aggravation of depression, but this is already in terms of psychology, and not conventional medicine.
