The price of Brent crude fell below $90 for the first time since early February

The price of Brent oil at the auctions of the London Stock Exchange ICE in the afternoon of September 7 fell below $90 per barrel. This happened for the first time since February 8th.

At the same time, the American brand WTI costs $85 per barrel for the first time since January 25, according to trading data.

The price of November futures for Brent crude oil as of 16:19 Moscow time fell by 3.18% to $89.89 per barrel, October futures for WTI fell by 3.43% to $83.88.

Fontanka wrote about the statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia would refuse to supply energy to those countries where political decisions would be made that contradict the terms of contracts for the supply of oil and gas. It also became known that the European Union may introduce a tax on excess profits of energy corporations to compensate for energy costs.
