The popularity of renting cottages for the New Year not only in the Moscow region, but throughout Russia does not fall. Moreover, the demand for “houses in the countryside” has grown sharply compared to last year (by 20%) and compared to the year before last, before the pandemic (by 30%). Some foreign tours seem to have already become available, but citizens prefer not to risk it – you never know, suddenly, at the most inopportune moment, the borders will close again.
Specialists of the federal portal “World of Apartments” found out that a rented house for 3 New Year’s days (from December 31 to January 2) in Russia costs an average of 58 thousand rubles. As for the Moscow region, the price of a cottage in the Moscow region is twice as high as in Russia: 120 thousand rubles. The package usually includes a barbecue area with equipment, a sauna, karaoke, billiards and hookah.
The cheapest suburban hut is rented for two people for 45 thousand rubles. We are talking about a one-story house with an attic 85 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road; the terrace has garden furniture and a barbecue. Guests can go skiing in the forest and there is an ice rink nearby on the lake.
In elite cottages, the range of entertainment is wider: they often have a spa center with a pool, a banquet hall, a dance floor, a cinema, guests have the opportunity to ride snowmobiles or ATVs.
Usually guests in the house are offered free toiletries (soap, shampoos), bed linen and towels, dishes. But vacationers need to be prepared for additional spending. “Firstly, many landlords take a security deposit of 20-50 thousand rubles, which is returned if the cottage and the property in it are not damaged during the celebration,” explains Pavel Lutsenko, general director of the portal. – Secondly, often options such as a bath, sauna, spa, as well as equipment rental are provided for a fee. Thirdly, if the number of people arriving exceeds the standard, you will also need to pay extra for them. “
It can be cheaper to “break away” on holidays near St. Petersburg: the cost of a three-day vacation starts at 35 thousand rubles. But, of course, inexpensive offers go away very quickly. The usual prices are from 50 to 100 thousand rubles.
– Experienced tenants of New Year’s cottages are aware that they should choose an option in September and book in October-November. At the beginning of December, 15-20% of the total rental supply remains, and prices rise by 10-20% compared to September, – says Pavel Lutsenko. – Nevertheless, even now we should not give up: some late landlords are putting up their houses in December. In addition, options for which customers are canceling are becoming available.
According to MIEL, most requests for New Year’s rent come from companies of 10-20 people who are looking for country houses with all amenities, several bedrooms, a spacious common area, with a bath or sauna. And the Moscow region offers ample opportunities for New Year’s holidays, where families and friends can go. There would be money.
For example, a two-story house with a total area of 130 square meters, 65 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road along the Simferopol highway, with a Russian bathhouse, for a period from December 30 to January 3 is offered for 100 thousand rubles. At normal times, its cost is 70 thousand rubles a month. A two-story cottage with an area of 380 square meters, 23 kilometers from the Moscow Ring Road along the Kiev highway, is offered for 200 thousand rubles from December 29 to January 3 for 6 people. The cost of this cottage for a long time is 160 thousand rubles a month.
“The cost of three or four holidays often exceeds the cost of renting the same house per month,” comments the managing director of the company Maria Zhukova. The owners not only, as they say, “take advantage of the opportunity”, but also try to compensate for the potential damage that may be caused to the house during the New Year holidays.
