Russian economist Mikhail Belyaev commented on the current living wage for pensioners in the country, annual indexation and the opportunity to accumulate funds for a comfortable existence after completing work.
According to Belyaev, each citizen independently decides how much money he needs for a comfortable existence. Nevertheless, it is already clear today that the pension should not be lower than the subsistence level. Some economists in Russia believe that the needs of retirees decrease dramatically over the years. However, this idea is fundamentally wrong, the expert said.
“Rising costs for health care, medications,” – emphasizes Belyaev, whose words leads the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”.
The economist clarified that pension provision in Russia is increasing annually. Of course, the step is not that big, but there is a positive trend in this direction. Today, many Russians are convinced that they will be able to live on retirement without any difficulties.
If a person has doubts about a secure future, Belyaev recommends starting to think over his pension capital today. Every employed person can save 10% of their income, this amount will not cause serious damage to the wallet, the economist sums up.
