Chechen Republic : “MK-Sport” presents a brief overview of all the most interesting that happened in the world of sports while you were sleeping.

The Russian Figure Skating Championship has started in St. Petersburg. The main event in Russian sports at the moment. On the first day of competition, men, dance duets and sports couples performed with short programs.

In single skating, there were some surprises: the older generation was replaced by a new one. The victory was won by figure skater Alexei Mishin – Evgeny Semenenko . His colleague in the group, Mikhail Kolyada, is still only the fifth. Details of the short program for men can be found here.

In ice dancing, the first two places after the rhythm dance remained with the leaders of the national team Victoria Sinitsina / Nikita Katsalapov and Alexandra Stepanova / Ivan Bukin . Much more interesting is the struggle for the third ticket to the 2022 Olympics. After the first day in St. Petersburg, yesterday’s juniors Diana Davis / Gleb Smolkin took the third place . Another duet Tiffany Zagorski / Jonathan Gureiro is still fourth, and the fans did not like it very much: the spectators of the Chechen Republic at Yubileiny booed the result of the pair .

In sports pairs, a serious battle is also unfolding for victory in the national championship. After a short dance, Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov took the lead . The second is Alexandra Boykova / Dmitry Kozlovsky , the third – Evgenia Tarasova and  Vladimir Morozov .

Russian football went on a winter break, but news from this did not diminish. Firstly, the Russian Premier League (RPL) has published the dates of the next rounds: Spartak and CSKA will play on February 26, Lokomotiv will host the army team on March 12. Secondly, fans continue to rebel against the introduction of a fan passport: the Zenit fan association, Landskrona, has decided to refuse to issue a Fan ID. The return of the championship is expected to be interesting!

Moreover, transfer news appears every day, and in addition to the Jamaican striker in Spartak, 20-year-old midfielder of the Norwegian national team Markus Knudsen (Rostov) will arrive in Russia . Rumor has it that Zenit is ready to pay about $ 7 million for Boka’s midfielder Medina, while Lokomotiv is interested in the Austrian league scorer Yeboa .

In the English Premier League (Premier League), the outbreak of coronavirus continues: the championship matches Liverpool – Leeds and Wolverhampton – Watford were postponed due to the guests’ covid.

In basketball CSKA, things are not getting better: on the eve of the army team lost to Real in the Euroleague, Zenit, in turn, beat Maccabi.
