Jammu: The Chief Patron of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference and Member Parliament Dr. Farooq Abdullah has called for dialogue with Pakistan. He said that there is no harm in starting dialogue with Pakistan when there can be talks with China.
He made the remarks while talking to reporters in Jammu. Dr. Farooq Abdullah said that dialogue is the only way to normalize the situation. He said that there was no problem in holding talks with Pakistan. The NC leader further said that if there can be talks with China which is occupying our land then why not with Pakistan? ۔ He said that threats have not solved any problem till date but all problems can be solved only through dialogue.
Farooq Abdullah said that Pakistan is not within our borders but China is sitting inside the border. When we can talk to them, Pakistan is our close neighbor and there should be no hesitation in talking to them. He urged the central government to strengthen trade ties with the neighboring country to bridge the gap.
Asked about the alleged Haiderpura clash, Farooq Abdullah said that the real facts could only come to light through a judicial inquiry. He said that if a magistrate does everything at the behest of the government then it is permissible to raise questions on this inquiry. The NC Patron said that a judicial inquiry was necessary to bring to light the facts of Haiderpura encounter so that justice could be provided to the victims.
