Diabetes mellitus can be recognized without tests. Physician-therapist Suri Dadasheva in an interview with RIA Novosti named three main symptoms of the disease, which should be paid attention to.
“The main triad of symptoms is distinguished: thirst (constant dry mouth does not go away even when consuming large volumes of fluid), frequent urination and constant feeling of hunger,” the interlocutor of the publication shared the details.
Along with these manifestations, experts generally include weakness, sweating, dry skin, and poor wound healing as signs of possible diabetes.
The reasons for the appearance of this ailment are heredity, overweight, arterial hypertension, the specialist noted.
The doctor urged people at risk to maintain a healthy lifestyle, lose extra pounds, engage in regular physical activity and try to avoid stress.
The doctor recommended having a glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) test every 6 months to measure the average blood glucose level over the past 2-3 months. If the indicator is above 6%, you should contact an endocrinologist.
