Tutberidze : Young figure skaters of Russia recently revealed the champion of the country in their category. For the second year in a row, the young star of Khrustalny Sofya Akatieva has become the winner of the Russian championship among juniors. She is the only one who managed to do without falls in the free program. MK-Sport summed up the results of the competition in Saransk.

In figure skating in Russia, there has not been such a variety of schools in women’s single skating for a long time. Everyone is used to the fact that Khrustalny dominates in this discipline, which churns out champions year after year. But this year, at the junior championship of Russia, the podium was taken by three figure skaters of different coaches. Three Sofyas made it to the top 3, and Sofya Akatieva became the best for the second year in a row .

The 14-year-old figure skater took the lead even after the short program, where, unlike the free program, almost all the participants in the competition managed without falling. There were a lot of mistakes on the second competitive day, but Akatieva didn’t. Sofia cleanly performed a triple Axel, a quadruple toe loop, a combination of a quadruple toe loop-triple toe loop, a triple loop, a triple flip-triple toe loop combination and a triple Lutz-Oiler-triple Salchow. The program was smeared only by the “butterfly” on the quadruple sheepskin coat (it turned out only double). She spoiled Akatieva’s joy of winning the JChR, here are Sophia’s words after the rental:

“I’m not very happy with my rental, a gross mistake was made, which I have never made in my life. I’ll work on it so it doesn’t happen again. It’s very disappointing – she didn’t fall, but simply didn’t even go in, didn’t fight. This is wrong… The excitement was as usual today. As well as before each rental. I tried to cope with it, but for some reason it was shaking a little. Not even because of the selection or something like that. I don’t even know what it’s about. Sometimes you worry more and sometimes less. But in general, you need to learn how to cope with it and gain experience. Of course, I am very glad that I managed to defend this title. I am very glad that I managed to qualify for the Junior World Championship. It will be very interesting to perform there, because this is a new stage in my life , ”Sport-Express quotes the winner of the competition.

Together with Akatieva, two more Sofias will go to the Junior World Championships, which will be held March 7-13 in Sofia (Bulgaria): Samodelkina from the CSKA school and Muravyov from the Plushenko Angels.

Muravyova can be called the hero of the competition, because after the short program she was far from the top three. But in the free program, she pulled herself together and gave out an almost perfect performance, becoming a bronze medalist following the results of the competition. Muravyova had a combination of a triple axel-double toe loop, a triple rittberger, a double axel, a combination of a triple-lutz-oiler-triple salchow and a triple flip-triple toe loop. There was a step out on the solo triple axel and a fall on the final triple lutz.

“I didn’t have enough strength for the lutz, there were problems before the competition, I got very sick and because of this, the preparation was a little off. How much I didn’t train is a secret, I’ll only say that there were three days left before the competition, when I first went on the ice. The programs were not simplified, because you can not give up. We need to keep working and moving forward. Motivation for me does not depend on the competition. For me, it’s just a desire to work on , ”said the figure skater Plushenko after the competition.

The silver medalist of the JChR was Sergei Davydov’s figure skater Sofya Samodelkina , who in the free program had falls from a quadruple lutz and a quadruple salchow. The triple rittberger, double axel, two combinations of triple lutz-triple toe loop, triple flip-oiler-triple salchow were performed cleanly. According to the results of the free program, Samodelkina took fourth place, but an excellent backlog in the short allowed her to become second according to the results of two programs.

“I look from the outside at the confrontation between Plushenko and Tutberidze, but I am for the Davydov team. For CSKA! We do not conflict with anyone, it happens, we listen to these scandals from the outside and make fun of them. I’m not offended that I’m past these showdowns, while others are arguing, we’re paving our way , ”said Samodelkina after the rental.

The Junior Championship of Russia did not work out for another student of Tutberidze Adeliya Petrosyan , who was among the main contenders for victory. A month ago, the 15-year-old figure skater fought for a medal at the adult national championship, where for the first time in the history of figure skating she performed two clean quad loops in the free program. The ultra-c element in Saransk did not work out: first there was a step-out, then a fall. Veronika Zhilina also failed her program . Plushenko’s student in training performs a triple axel and three quadruple jumps, but there was a fall from all three at JCHR.
