In Japan, the competition of sports pairs as part of the fourth stage of the Figure Skating Grand Prix has ended. Russian duets took first and second places – Anastasia Mishina / Alexander Gallyamov celebrated the victory again. And the newly-made pair of the Eteri Tutberidze group, Evgenia Tarasova / Vladimir Morozov, again had mistakes. MK-Sport has summed up the results of the NHK Trophy.
In Tokyo, the fourth stage of the Figure Skating Grand Prix is coming to an end, which has already brought medals to the Russian national team. It was not without disappointment: in women’s single skating, the competition was left without Russian figure skaters after Daria Usacheva was injured. Russian men are still storming, and so far we cannot count on winning the Grand Prix.
But from Tokyo, Russian duets will take away two gold and silver. Victoria Sinitsina / Nikita Katsalapov celebrated the victory in dancing , Anastasia Mishina / Alexandra Gallyamov celebrated in sports pairs . The convincing victory of Tamara Moskvina’s students once again brings them closer to Olympic gold. In Tokyo, it was enough for Anastasia and Alexander to perform a free program cleanly so as not to leave a chance to the pursuers. And Mishina and Galliamov won the NHK Trophy after the first cascade in the free program, the gap after the short program, which the skaters won with a personal best, was too big.
Mishina and Gallyamov were 14 points ahead of the silver medalists of the Japanese Grand Prix Yevgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov . And still they were unhappy with their performance.about:blank
“We are more likely to be more satisfied with our rental, but we understand that this is far from the maximum, a lot of things need to be added and (a lot of things need to be) corrected. But we were glad to feel this amazing Japanese atmosphere, this incredible support and indescribable sensations for which we are very grateful , ”said Gallyamov.
Honored Coach of Russia Tamara Moskvina was pleased with the hire of her students, and also noted that Anastasia and Alexander “perform reliably and with dignity.” This is perhaps what is lacking in the second sports duo of Russia, Tarasova and Morozov. The couple moved into the offseason in the Eteri Tutberidze group in order to restore jumps, which for some reason fell down at a certain point in their career. But even the country’s chief jumping specialist cannot help Tarasova and Morozov.
In all starts this season (there were already five of them), Evgenia and Vladimir had rough landings. In the short program at the NHK Trophy, the partner fell from the sheepskin coat, and in the free program, there were twice mistakes on the throw.
“Today there were a lot of roughness, mistakes, so we failed to show a good performance. We will continue to work, nothing terrible has happened , ”said Morozov.
Despite this, Tarasova and Morozov have already secured a place in the Grand Prix finals – the first from the Russian national team. Mishina and Gallyamov should achieve the same at the Grand Prix stage in Sochi.
