VKontakte has launched a grant program for organizations that create projects in the field of culture and open up new directions in art. The grant can be spent on promoting a project or event on VKontakte. This is how the platform helps the representations of cultural institutions to develop in the digital environment.
Both well-known museums, theaters and philharmonic societies, as well as author’s exhibition centers, art spaces and cultural associations, regardless of the region, can apply and receive a grant. Online projects can also participate in the program.
To receive a grant, it is enough to have an active VKontakte community and regularly interact with the audience. The advantage will be non-standard tools: you can broadcast live with discussions of theatrical performances or hold creative evenings using calls on the platform. At the same time, the number of subscribers does not matter: The VK team will assess the relevance of the topic and the format of the project, as well as the involvement of the audience and the content of the community. A grant can be obtained both for the promotion of an individual event and for the development of the project as a whole.
Every three months you can apply for a grant in the amount of 100 thousand rubles – 10 participants can win it. And once a year there is a chance to become the owner of a larger prize: five leaders will receive a million rubles each and six more – 500 thousand rubles each. The total grant capital is 12 million rubles. The winners will be announced in the VKontakte Culture community.
Zera Chereshneva, Director of Strategic Projects VKontakte:
“It is important for us that every museum or creative association can present itself and its unique project online. This will attract the attention of a much larger audience to cultural projects. Usually, obtaining grant funds is not an easy task for a cultural organization. Our digital grants program will allow you to get a resource for promoting VKontakte in two clicks. To apply, you only need a detailed description of the project and love for the platform. “
VKontakte already has a support program for talented authors VK Talents. It includes monthly grants for the promotion and development of creativity, integration into fashion events and festivals, contracts and collaborations with world famous brands.
The platform also regularly creates projects in the field of culture. So, for the anniversary of Sergei Dovlatov, users were able to see the film by Alexei German – Jr. about the writer, as well as watch the broadcasts of the D Day festival and share the author’s favorite quote on their page.
