Bhubaneswar: Police have arrested a man from Bhubaneswar for making a fake e-mail ID of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and forging his signature to take advantage of Public Sector Undertaking (PSU). Kumar has been cast as Seth.
The Delhi Police Cyber Cell said it had received a complaint from Raj Bhushan Singh Rawat, Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, alleging that some unknown persons had created a fake e-mail ID of Yogi Adityanath to power the Grid Corporation of India. Messages have been sent to public sector undertakings like ONGC and GAIL. The complainant had attached scanned letters with forged signatures of Chief Minister Adityanath in his complaint. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered and investigation has been started.
During the investigation, fake email id yogiadityanath.mp@gmail.com was identified and the content of the email was analyzed to understand the purpose of the fake email. The accused was identified through analysis of IP address and human intelligence.
KPS Malhotra, deputy superintendent of IFSO Delhi, said the accused came to know that his plan to take advantage of the advertisement was not successful. He was constantly changing his location to avoid the police. Police finally arrested him in Bhubaneswar on Friday.
During the interrogation, the accused told the police that he was a freelance journalist. Such fake letters were created to get advertisements in favor of their local newspapers through fake email IDs.
